- Women who regularly sleep less than 6 hours a night have 20% less of the follicular releasing hormone Lutenizing H which peaks just prior to ovulation and is necessary for conception.
- Young (mid-twenties) and healthy men who, in a trial at the University of Chicago, were restricted to 5 hours sleep a night suffered a testosterone drop which aged them by 10 to 15 years.
- Men who repeatedly do not get enough sleep ,or have disrupted sleep patterns ,have a 29% lower sperm count than those well rested.
