Change can be extremely difficult and can in itself  cause anxiety because our minds are naturally resistant, preferring the comfort of the way we have always done things – no matter how damaging they may be.

The great joy of using hypnotherapy is that I can bypass all those irrational beliefs and fears and instead, I can settle positive, encouraging thoughts into your subconscious mind that will support you as you change. Rather than your mind panicking or tempting you back to old comforts and habits you will learn a new calm and sensible way so that anxieties, phobias, addictions, etc simply fall away and lose their power.

Those who say, “why don’t you just give up or stop it?” may mean well but they don’t understand the way the mind works. Sometimes people tell you how easy they found giving something up or changing, and perhaps they did, but  perhaps it wasn’t all that easy and maybe they haven’t coped quite so well as they say. Anti-Smoking

If I’m honest I’m not certain that I was committed to giving up smoking but I felt I needed to try as my partner had just stopped over Christmas as I was embarrassed that I couldn’t ‘just stop’. I really thought the hypnotherapy would fail... but 3 months on I haven’t given smoking more than a brief thought and the best bit is that I haven’t resorted to snacking as a substitute (like my partner has) so I haven’t put weight on. I’m no longer a smoker and that’s thanks to a morning with Rachel.
